Medical Services During a Fire in Wendlinghausen Castle

Blomberg, 9 April 2007

At about 5.48 p.m., the Red Cross volunteers of Lemgo and Blomberg were called for help by the Dörentrup fire brigade. A building in Wendlinghausen castle had caught fire. This was one of those services which could take longer and could possibly be dangerous for our colleagues from the fire brigade. Therefore, 2 to 3 of our volunteers are usually called for help to support the official rescue service, which by itself could not handle both the medical service for the fire and their regular job. After a thorough examination of the building, it was decided to reduce forces. We left the fire at about 7:03 p.m. since the fire was in the Lemgo Red Cross area.
